Measuring 14 by 48 inches, the Bat table scarf is worked on heavy-weight Craftsman Flax and includeshand-appliqued bats that arecouched in matching deep brown pearl cotton thread. Ivy leaves are hand-embroidered in the satin stitchusing olive green pearl cotton thread, and the stems are embroidered in the stem stitchusing nutmeg brown thread. The center straight lines provide direction and strength and are embroidered in chain stitch with olive green thread running through the center of the stitch. A stem stitch worked in nutmeg brown thread creates a decorative double folded hem. The natural upside down nature of the bat was preserved in the table scarf.
