The Prairie Pillow will introduce you to the satin stitch, stem stitch, and a few French knots (there is only four)!
The Prairie Pillow provides simple, beautiful straight geometric forms and lines present in the Prairie style. The finished pillow is 23" by 23" (seam to seam - as stuffed the pillow occupies approximately 20 inches of space) and is created on heavyweight linen in a camel color.
Rust colored pearl cotton thread is stitched within the "cross" while ochre yellow is worked in the satin stitch within the center squares. Green thread is used to connect the cross while brown thread is used to outline the center squares in stem stitch. The kit includes everything you need to stitch the pillow including, DMC pearl cotton thread, Bohin chenille needle, Belgium linen front cover with hand silk screened design, back cover to match. You will need a small 4-6 inch hoop, embroidery scissors and a 26-inch feather/down pillow form once the pillow is complete.
